Why Our Politics Are Broken?

Why doesn’t Congress do its job anymore? Why do the political parties seem determined to get thrown out of power the moment their voted into power? Why does so much of the media seem determined to tell their audiences what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear? Why don’t politicians cater to the center and why don’t parties want to be majority parties anymore? Veteran political commentator Jonah Goldberg offers a balanced, non-partisan, an entertaining and insightful explanation for our systemic dysfunction.

A Pity Only One of them Can Lose

Jonah Goldberg explains why both parties are stuck with candidates most Americans don’t want to vote for. In 2024, as in 2016, both parties have nominated presidential candidates so unpopular they have a chance of losing to the other guy. How did we get here and can we ever get out of this mess? Goldberg offers a rollicking and up-to-the minute account of the presidential race and what it will mean for Washington and the country..

The End of Conservatism?

What it means to be a conservative has always been debated on the right. But conservatism itself has never been under more assault from the right. Self-described nationalists, populists, so-called “post-liberal” intellectuals, and other champions of a “new right” seek to chuck the conservatism of Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley, and Barry Goldwater into the dustbin of history. Aided by Donald Trump’s takeover of the Republican Party, a diverse movement of activists and intellectuals seek to redefine conservatism into something Reagan and Co. wouldn’t recognize or support. Will it succeed? Should it? What will happen to conservatives who still believe in limited government, a strong national defense, and free markets?

The Suicide of the West

In his acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Suicide of the West, Jonah Goldberg argued that the “Miracle” of modern prosperity and human dignity ushered in by the Enlightenment is under assault from the left and right, by champions of identity politics, populism, and nationalism. Decline is a choice, as Goldberg’s friend the late Charles Krauthammer used to say, and Americans are choosing – suicidally – to turn their backs on the principles that made America rich, free, and democratic. Goldberg offers an at times brilliant, at time hilarious, 250 year history of how we got to this dismaying pass, and offers some solutions of how we might survive it.

An Up-to-the-Minute Take on the Political Mood of the Country and What it Means for You

Political commentator and Washington insider Jonah Goldberg gives audiences a lively but balanced view of the current national political landscape. Highlighting the biggest political and policy trends, personalities and principles at the heart of American culture and the national debate today, he offers a nuanced and thought-provoking assessment and explains what it all means for the economy and for your business.
