Rishi Manchanda and his colleagues at HealthBegins have the right mindset: a deep respect for the tools, new and less so, we need to take care of the sick and to prevent unnecessary suffering; a knowledge of our health care system and its weaknesses and assets; an awareness of the importance of civic engagement in addressing upstream and downstream problems; a good sense of the human resources we might need, upstreamist clinicians among them, to transform American health care delivery.
