Dr. Dr. Dr. HC (Yes, it’s a thing), Professor of Practice Jamie Hyneman is best known as host and Executive Producer of Discovery Channel’s long running series, Mythbusters.
Prior to Mythbusters, Jamie was a jack of all trades with jobs and skills ranging from wilderness survival and Russian linguist to sailboat captain and dive master. He is a lifetime member of both the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators, as well as the National Science Teachers Association.
Jamie’s many years on Mythbusters testing unusual and dangerous situations was both figuratively, and at times literally, a trial by fire. Through this on-camera education, he now spends most of his time behind the scenes working on cutting edge projects such as remote controlled fire proof firefighting tanks, blast proof armor, and ultra fast naval vessels. Most recently, he has been developing a new type of PPE and focusing on new technologies for collecting geothermal energy to produce power.
