<p>This UC Berkeley Law Professor and Supreme Court expert shares stories from the book she co-wrote with friend and mentor Ruth Bader Ginsburg and gives audiences a behind-the-curtain look at the inner workings of the nation’s highest court.</p><p>A Supreme Court, civil liberties and constitutional law expert who served early in her career as a law clerk to the late and Honorable Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Amanda Tyler is currently the Shannon Cecil Turner Professor of Law at UC Berkeley and an author. </p><p>Her most recent book, co-written with Ruth Bader Ginsburg just one year before Ginsburg’s death, is <em>Justice, Justice Thou Shalt Pursue: A Life’s Work Fighting for a More Perfect Union</em> (Simon & Schuster will release the paperback in March of 2023). The result of an intimate interview with Justice Ginsburg, the book traces Ginsburg’s legacy—her lifelong pursuit of gender equality and her unwavering fight for “a more perfect Union”—as embodied in a U.S. Constitution that leaves no person behind. </p><p>Tyler also gives audiences a fascinating, behind-the-curtain look at the inner workings of the Supreme Court. Exploring notable decisions and opinions, the quirks and personalities of individual Supreme Court justices, and the dynamics of conflict and civil discourse that allow it to function effectively, Tyler helps audiences understand the most recent decisions and cases and their likely impact on American society, business and the economy and on the individual lives of American citizens.</p><p>A frequent commentator in the media and a contributor to multiple interviews and documentaries on Justice Ginsburg’s life and legacy, Tyler has also written for a wide range of publications, including<em> The Atlantic</em>, the <em>Harvard Law Review</em>, the <em>Stanford Law Review</em>, and the<em> Yale Law Journal</em>.</p><p>Tyler is the co-editor of a foundational casebook for law students, Hart & Wechsler&#39;s <em>The Federal Courts and the Federal System, 2016-Present</em>. She has published two additional books with Oxford University Press: <em>Habeas Corpus in Wartime: From the Tower of London to Guantanamo Bay</em> (2017) and<em> Habeas Corpus: A Very Short Introduction</em> (2021).  </p>
